Capsule Geology

The Duc showing area is underlain by Devonian to Permian sedimentary rocks of the Stikine Assemblage and further east by by marine sedimentary and volcanic rock of the Upper Triassic Stuhini Group. The stratigraphy is Early Jurassic granodiorite of the Texas Creek Plutonic Suite. Eocene stocks intrude the pre-Jurassic stratigraphy north of the Porcupine River at the Sphaler Creek confluence.

Locally, three mineralization zones occur on or near the Cuds 7 mineral claim. The Duc zone, located approximately 100 metres west of the western boundary of the Cuds 7 claim, is a series of quartz veins ranging in width from 5 to 40 centimetres and striking in an east or southeast direction. Sulphide mineralization consists of pyrite, arsenopyrite and pyrrhotite with or without sphalerite, galena, chalcopyrite and molybdenite. The mineralization is localized along hairline fractures within crackled quartz veins. These veins are hosted within an intensely silicified and clay altered zone.

Float mineralization collected below the Duc Zone, at the bottom of a talus slope, assayed 5.49 grams per tonne gold, 370.3 grams per tonne silver, 2.95 per cent zinc, 1885 parts per million copper, and 4190 parts per million lead (Home Ventures Ltd., (1992/09/22): Statement of Material Facts No.59/92).

Similar mineralization assaying up to 4.32 grams per tonne gold was found in Bud Creek 750 metres to the east on the Cuds 7 claim. A 0.5 metre shear zone, located a further 1,300 metres to the east, assayed 2.95 grams per tonne gold (Home Ventures Ltd., (1992/09/22): Statement of Material Facts No.59/92).

Work History

During September of 1989, Pass Lake Resources Ltd. carried out initial exploration on the Cuds 1-4 claims, consisting of geological mapping, prospecting and stream sediment sampling, taking 4 field-sieved stream sediment samples, 4 silt samples and 29 rock samples.

In 1990 on the Cuds 1-4, Lorica Resources Ltd. carried out limited exploration on the Cuds 1-4 claims, consisting of geological mapping, prospecting and stream sediment sampling. They collected 1 silt sample, 8 soil samples and 17 rock samples.

During the fall of 1989 and 1990, Pass Lake Resources Ltd. carried out limited exploration on the Cuds 5-8 claims, consisting of geological mapping, prospecting, stream sediment and soil sampling; taking atotalof 3 field-sieved stream sediment samples, 18 silt samples, 11 soil samples and 29 rock samples during the two field programs.

During September of 1991, Home Ventures Inc. carried out a property-wide exploration program on the Cuds 5-8 claims, consisting of geological mapping, prospecting and geochemical sampling. During the course of this program, 20 silt samples, 178 soil samples and 74 rock samples were taken.

In 2007 Romios Gold conducted their Aeromagnetic survey on their SW Block claims that once contained parts of the lapsed Cud claims (Assessment Report 29696).

Over the 2009 season, Romios completed exploration efforts over the SW Block in the form of mapping, prospecting, follow-up of airborne geophysical results and geochemical rock sampling. In total, 12 rock samples were collected from the area.
